Mar. 7th, 2005 10:25 pmIt is kind of disconcerting that Painter 9's logo is a hand with like 9 fingers. What was wrong with the good 'ol paintbrush? Now all of my Painter files are extraneous-finger-handed.
But aside from that, yeah, there are some relatively small but very nice changes, like the ability to paint along a path. Yes! I've been trying to do that ever since I discovered paths in Photoshop! And a "digital watercolor" brush set that I might actually use, unlike the regular watercolors which are too much like real watercolors for me to handle. ^^;; And Photoshop-style layer masks, which will save me some "Preserve Transparency" grief. And a real palette! Which I will probably never use, but is a very nifty feature!
It doesn't make me paint better. But it makes me feel like I do. <g>
