The crazy adventure of Wii

3pm: Dropped by Walmart, where there was no line (except maybe like 1 person). It was also in an area where the population was more... let's just say... PS3-inclined, so we figured no problems.
8:15pm: Showed up at Walmart, and there was a line of 49 people with allocation of 30 Wiis. Wiidiculous. Where did all these nerds pop up from? According to reports, Toys R Us (the other midnight launch) was already camped out beyond question.
9pm: Immediate change of plans involving a rush home to grab pillows/blankets/lawn chairs/entertainment because the local Target gets 120 Wiis, but opens at 8am.
11pm: Various hilarities ensued including endless Uno games, temporary folding chair purchases, and Kevin grabbing a stethoscope (??) instead of his chess set because the boxes were the exact same size.
Sunday
4:30am: Cold, sleepless night. But I got to watch the first half of Cars on some guy's laptop!
6am: The line eventually filled up completely. Three, four hundred Wiis in our town, all totally snatched up.
7am: Target was really nice and organized - they handed out cards to check off the games and accessories you want so they could get them for you ahead of time, and gave out free popcorn and coffee. A balanced breakfast for the unwashed gaming nerd to be sure.
8:30am: Wii acquired. Immediately had to go to class. Boo-urns.
11:30am: Too tired, came home early. Made a Mii, assessed that the Wiimote does indeed work its magic, ate a few bites of lunch and zonked out. Then
lordfabianshire called me for advice on buying a DS. Then zonked out for good.
4pm: Zelda time!
