HP Tarot thumbnails - Judgement
This is going to be THE most difficult and time-consuming Majors card to paint, calling it now. Ironically the thumbnail came together quite quickly, for how long I've turned it over in my mind - probably because I totally didn't bother to do accurate perspective or architecture.
Much like Judgement Day, this card depicts a time of great, important decisive results. It's pretty obvious this has to be the scene of the showdown between Harry and Voldemort.
Notable art bits:
1. The traditional Judgement card portrays an angel announcing the day of judgement with the blast of a trumpet. Well, there was the passage "I don't want anyone else to try to help," Harry said loudly, and in the total silence his voice carried like a trumpet call. But it's not like you can hear that in the card. :P Let's just say Harry lecturing Voldemort in an attempt to get him to hear reason blah blah blah awakening call.
2. Figures rise from their tombs at the summon of the angel.. On this card it's the crowd (Dumbledore's Army) rallying behind Harry.
3. This depiction of the Great Hall is totally crazy! Forlazy vanishing point perspective dramatic effect!
4. Geez, re-reading that section of the book for this illustration, Harry (and the narration for that matter) is so damn full of smug. I suppose he has kind of earned it but eesh.
I did finish all the cards on time! The last thumbnail will be postedtomorrow once my clock ticks over to June 14th :P
