And now I'm off to do the eyedrop thing

So. I've gone from 20/2000 vision to almost 20/15. That's right.

Drooling at the Nintendo Power scans [livejournal.com profile] lroy has so helpfully linked to. I want to get an issue for myself =D Also would like to do some drawing or something, but I should still not overtax my eyes. Will see if I can get some progress done on the fic though.

As part of recuperation process I got some books on tape from the library. Currently on chapter 5 of Memoirs of a Geisha which is okay but a little slow. (I just got through about 15 minutes on how a geisha puts on her makeup and kimono in the morning.) It reminds me of The Samurai's Tale that we read in junior high. The problem is, though, the person reading the book can't pronounce Japanese at all, and there were the occasional short passage/poem/dialogue read in Japanese that I just cringe and mentally go "LALALA" over. Blargh.

Paper Mario was cute =) Well worth the rental, now I can take it off my want list.

Congratulations!

It's a wonder to see what you've been missing with bad vision, ne?
(P.S. How long are you stuck on the evil eyedrops of doom?)

I keep thinking "Wow, it's like getting a higher-res monitor."

...

But really, it's even better than my glasses. And my glasses were pretty darn good.

How long are you stuck on the evil eyedrops of doom?

Actually, today's the last day I have to use the antibiotics. Then I only need to use the lubricating ones which are just fine and don't taste bitter or give me slight headaches. ::thumbs up::

Whoo! -returns the thumbs up gesture- Lovin' the analogy, by the way. I usually compare my eyesight before surgery to looking through a lens of saran wrap and salve/vaseline.

... and lucky you, I was stuck on the sick, sick, run-down-the-back-of-your-throat-and-make-you-gag drops for like... two or three weeks. XD In a match of LASIK vs. Cataract (Lens Replacement) LASIK'll win every time...

Whoa, 20/15??

I unofficially tested out to be 20/15 in high school (physio wall chart), but I'm not quite sure anymore. After so many years of staring at computer monitors and squinting at fine text...

Anyway, next time you get a chance to, take a look at the Big Dipper, count one star down from the end of the handle, and see if you can see the double star there now. :)

Probably not, my vision is weakest in the dark, especially if I'm trying to look at a single light source. It's getting better now but right after the surgery I had trouble focusing even on my digital alarm clock in the middle of the night. But I'll give it a try anyway.
