Back to a slightly skewed normalcy.
Well, I didn't drink, but not due to lack of intent I assure you.
That said, the people have spoken. If this is what they want, then they can have it. At least I am left with the peace of mind that no matter what kind of crap goes down in the next four years, America chose it fair and square. I won't whine or moan or howl in outrage, because I know now this is the mindset that the majority is willing to adopt. I will merely shake my head in the corner, and wait for next time. Perhaps by then, people will have seen the consequences of their ways, and change their minds. Perhaps they won't. Perhaps I will.
I'd be happy if I could do so, but I won't run away to another country (that is, if I had the means to do so in the first place). As enormously good as Canada or Australia looks right now, if everyone "in the right" left America in disgust, then there won't be anyone left to vote for what's "right" next time around. As meaningless as my vote is, I won't abandon it while there is still a chance for things to change.
The sun is up this morning, the sky is blue, the world will not end though it may be a bit tougher to put up with. This, too, will pass. Four years is a long time, but it has passed before and it will again.
Edit: No forgiveness for the pro-bigotry-and-hatred voters though. Burn, assholes.
