HP thoughts

8 hours later...

Upon reading the first page: My, but JKR has gotten wordy. Can you say "bloat?" (She does get better when not describing settings though.)

Blimey, Harry, lay off the Caps Lock. Those fifteen-year-old hormones are no good for him at all.

HAHA! I'm one of the few fanartists to get Cho's hair right! HAHAHA!

I see JKR's smart enough not to pull the "Harry can't quite place where he's heard the name..." for long; she knows we've all scrutinized the books long enough to memorize every single detail. =P

I don't think the killing off Sirius was justified... like, we barely knew him, and we just barely got a glimpse of his in-depth background. (I'm sure all the fangirls were drooling over the long bishie hair, by the way.) So I suspect he'll be back somehow... though I don't think that'll be JKR's style.

I don't trust Cho. She was just way too easy and too good to happen. I thought she would turn out to be a spy/traitor for the first, oh, until Valentine's Day I'd say. I'll still be keeping an eye on her through the rest of the series.

Speaking of, what was Harry up to for half an hour, eh? XP

Mrs. Weasley's boggart is foreshadowing... I point my finger at Percy.

My, how sweet shy little Ginny has changed. I suspect she might make a fair Auror. =)

I must be the only person out there who doesn't care much for Luna. She seemed a bit Mary Sue to me...

Oh, god, how I feared for McGonagall. She CANNOT die. Just like Harry said, she's always been the rigid one who's always been there. And she kicks so damn much ass.

Not satisfied with Dumbledore's explanation. Probably been reading too many wildly-woven fan theories. Will bet 50-50 that Neville turns out to be the "destined one" after all. Poor kid.

Things that more-or-less surprised me by being accurately predicted: James and co.'s jerk-ness at Hogwarts. Harry being the new "teacher" at Hogwarts. The importance of the Chamber of Secret Chamberpots. Sirius's angsty past. Snape's angsty past. Neville's importance. Mrs. Lestrange's importance.

And last of all, regardless of any other flaws in her writing, kudos to JKR for capturing the teenage mentality perfectly, as usual.
