When does the RotK soundtrack come out? It's not out already, right?

Been going through all the "Appendix" material in both extended DVDs. The amount of love and thought that has gone into the project is nearly unfathomable. The quality of all the design work... every single thing, function, detail has been thought through, put in for a *reason*. How do these folks gather that much knowledge and imagination? Most of them are young people not much further from me...

That's in comparison to my character "designs" where I put in something strange and metallic-looking and say "that looks futuristic... okay" ^^;;

Need Art of TTT and RotK books. Hmm, gotta put that down on the want list.

Edit: I love the Rohan theme (music) so very, very much and I want to marry it. Just thought I'd point that out.

Hey! I wanted to marry the Rohan theme too!! Oh well, you win - you have the special extended DVD.

I always try to read those "making of blah de blah film" things, because I'm always so struck by the dedication that these people have for their art. I wish I was going through those appendices too... :)

I don't think the RotK soundtrack is out, but there will be a set of soundtracks from all three movies coming out at the end of the month, according to my roommate, so I have my eye on that.

My favorite part of the soundtrack, I think, is the chanting when Gandalf and the Balrog fall into the huge chamber at the bottom of Khazad-dum. But that's just me.

I liked the chants too - it made you feel that the Balrog was this really old, ancient, pagan thing, which is exactly how it's supposed to be. :)

But the violin for Rohan and the fantastic French horn solo (well, duh) at the end of Fellowship are my favorites out of all of Howard Shore's work so far. Must get!!
