nendil: (error!)
I'm watching the X-Box 360 preview on MTV, with three threads of discussion open and refreshing concurrently. I don't think I've ever had such a nerd moment, and I don't even care about Microsoft gaming.

Of course, Nintendo arrives at E3 in less than 5 days...

Edit: Of course, being on MTV means there's a lot of pointless flashy filler which gives me time to multi-task. And good god, these guys from "The Killers"... I dunno, but the singer can't carry a tune in a titanium-reinforced bucket. OH GOD THE FLASHING LIGHTS

Edit 2: Oh hay guyz let's "pimp out" the old X-Box with ugly-ass chain/skull decals that'll make it HARDCORE for sure

Okay, to actually talk about something useful (relative, of course) - that thing in the vertical position really feels kind of disturbingly unstable to me... I'd be freaked out that I'd knock it over just pressing the power button oh sorry RING OF LIGHT.

Conclusion: Nothing I hadn't already gotten earlier (and way more) through internet leaks, except for some shots (like 50 seconds in total) of games in action. Sorry to say, but for the most part they didn't much impress me either. Some games look a bit smoother/have shinier explosions than the current generation, but uh... uninspiring, Microsoft. I was expecting competent, weighty CG animation in golf and skateboard games by now. Not to mention it's impossible to get a grasp on anything when they flash the clip for all of 1-2 seconds.

Of course, practically nothing they showed was my kind of genre (sports/driving/FPS games horray), but even judging aesthetically... ehh. I'll stick with Mario and Pikachu =)

The end I swear: Can't resist one last jab - all signs point to no backward compatibility, UNLIKE NINTENDO. So much for your Halo 2, folks...
