GUYS SHOULD I GO TO FANIME THIS YEAR. I just decided on a cosplay that I could get done in time if I start NOW but not if I don't start NOW. ARE YOU GUYS GOING.
You didn't sound sarcastic at all :X But I don't think I'll hit it up this year; instead I'll try for some sort of Halloween get together with summercomfort and do a con next year when more people are/will be able to be ready.
(I wanna be Katara, btw, and I'll be tickled pink if I can get my brother to cosplay Sokka too XD)
Re: other cons, I think it's getting a bit late for AX, plus none of their guests this year look that interesting (though I know lots of Caltech Anime Society people would go crazy over Nabeshin), and I don't know what else we would go to, so. Then again, AX's historical guest lists look a lot more impressive, so maybe they just haven't filled out the lineup yet.

I don't really intend to go to a summer con; that's kind of soon too plus they'd all be further traveling than Fanime, and I've still got work without a convenient Memorial Day weekend. I was thinking more in the terms of if anyone wants to call anything between January-May '11, because I don't know anything offhand but seemingly there are cons happening. I'm fine with just Fanime, too.
No... I will have to stick with Xellos. ^^;; Unless lots of miraculous things happen, including I start watching Avatar, I get hooked enough to want to cosplay, and I have the time to do a costume before Halloween.
Not that I really know what other cons are out there, but it seems like they would all be farther away than AX and less worth the trip. Oh, except I would be up for Yaoi-Con, but I'm guessing no one else would do it with me. XP

Well you should watch it anyway. ;P Here's a proposal: Watch any single episode all the way through, and if you're not hooked by the KICKASS KUNG-FU ACTION, feel free to call it quits. But if you arrrreeee... well, there's plenty of time between now and Halloween ;)

I just found out that Home Made KAZOKU and Yoshida Brothers are both performing at Otakon this year in Baltimore. July 31-Aug 1. If this didn't involve cross-country plane tickets, I'd be jumping on it now.
