Just what is this neighboring land of "Catalia" I hear referenced in so many Zelda fics? I've played every single Zelda game to date (except for CD-i and Four Swords), and I've beaten every one except Adventure of Link, plus I've seen every cartoon episode even, and I just don't recall that name. If it's a fan invention, how did it get so... widespread?

And by the way, vote for Zelda today! =)

I believe Catalia/Calatia (I can never remember which one it is) comes from ye olde comic books from back in the 80s. That's the only place *I've* ever seen it, anyway. It's nice to have a handy-dandy name for a neighboring country when ficcing, so I make much use of it.
