Yeah, stop being such a lazy biatch.
The following review has been submitted to: Destiny's Opus: Overture Chapter: 3
And here we have yet another author that doesn't believe in keeping the supply up for demand created.
Even worse, the author promised to update after their finals, and well that was three months ago, so that means that they had at least two months free time. What happend?
Since there are several people here that are already members of the database, how about someone send the author an email? To motivate them, or... something.
My goodness, it's not even like I've got such an omg edge-of-your-seat plotline going on, what's with this impatience? XP I'm goin', I'm goin'.
But first, something else I've promised:
So we started off with a plane ride to Chengdu, and the next day were off on a twelve-hour bus ride to Jiuzhaigou. Not very worth it even if the scenery on the way was okay, better to take a plane there directly.
Here's my cousins and me in front of the nice hotel we stayed at whenever we were shuttled back to Chengdu - it's the building with the round thing on top which is supposedly a revolving restaurant but it never revolved when we ate breakfast there.
Jiuzhaigou was closer to Tibet than we had realized, and so we saw a lot of Zhang tribe (Tibetan?) culture there. Yaks are very important to their livelihoods, and white yaks are good luck. Of course, these ones here are more like cash cows. =P
I did some quick (crappy) sketches of the yaks and camel there, and all the native guys came around to look. The shirtless young man was also very interested in art and I gave him one of my old sketches as a gift.
Now we're into Jiuzhaigou scenery. This picture of Mirror Lake was one of the only decent ones we were able to get, on the bus going up the mountain. When we walked back down later to see it, the water had started rippling =(
EVERYONE on the bus let out an exclamation when Peacock Lake came into view. The water really is that blue, folks. I didn't edit these pics in any way besides resizing.
Our first stop after getting off the bus was the "Medieval Forest"... maybe more like old growth forest? I dunno. But the morning sunlight made it look like a fairy tale forest. Really quite peaceful... aside from all the tourists.
When you come to Jiuzhaigou, it's for the water. There's a saying "归来黄山不看山，归来九寨不看水", which means "Once you return from Huang Shan you'll never look at mountains again; once you return from Jiuzhaigou you'll never look at water again."
Our shadows over a bridge. Can't tell that's water, can ya?
More scenery. There'll be plenty of these, get used to 'em.
Arrow Bamboo Lake, where they filmed part of "Hero". If you've seen the movie, you'll know the scene. The reflections aren't quite as stunning as Mirror Lake but still gorgeous.

To preserve nature, they cut holes in the paths for the trees to grow, just like Rivendell in the movie. But what do they do when the trees grow bigger...?
