Zelda's outfit looks a lot like the one she wears in Ocarina of Time.
Yes it does, except... except... more sensical! Or historical! Or just plain fancy-shmancy or something I can't define! And her sword is simply perfect. *_*
Villain? Hmmm...Is that the Sheikah symbol I see on that cloak? By george, it is! Is that a castle in the background behind that cloaked figure? Hmmm....
Well, my other guess was, like, Zelda, especially seeing how pale he/she is. If she turns out to have some uber-form of Sheik in this game, I'll probably have to re-attach my head because I've spazzed so hard and then scramble to catch up with the cosplaying
And indeed it is a castle, the EGM article (http://www.livejournal.com/users/nendil/85351.html?thread=161895#t161895) confirms.
Knowing Nintendo, though, they'll just end up pseudo-spiteing me by making it a new character I never would've guessed. Pfeh. XP
Heh, yup. If anything though, it' nice to see them including such subtle details that call to previous games. It's little references and tie-ins that make it so much fun to be a fan. Uber-Sheik would definately cause head explosion on my part, and the possibility of something entirely new is exciting too. Ah well, can't wait to find out more. Hope ya don't mind the random anonymous post!
Games with nostalgia value definitely win big points with me, which is actually a big part of why I'm so fond of the Capcom Zelda games. Honestly, what's the point of a franchise if it doesn't reflect back upon itself?

Not at all! I'd have liked to known who you are, but if you feel it necessary, then better an anonymous comment than no comment at all. =)
Guh... guh... skin?? The cover pic would probably be real good and dramatic, but really hard to position all the elements. Oh, oh, do it for Zelda! Good luck picking the color scheme.
Wind Waker Link did expressions just fine. ;) But yeah, I went through the same thing for this Link with his INTENSE ELROND EYEBROW ACTION. Good to see that he is capable of emoting, though. Very promising...
Character designs = EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Zelda doesn't look like the sort to be thrown down on top of a haystack though, more's the pity... And she has sapphires in her tiara and just-above-the-crotch tiara (as I will now call the dangly thing)! Yay! And she looks so pretty and badass and... THAT SWORD IS AWESOME Link looks hawt. So very hawt. I confess I have been oggling Dante from Devil May Cry of late but now I'm back to oggling the elf, in all his cowboy/hero INTENSE ELROND EYEBROW ACTION glory.
Whole game is going to be teh sex. Really.
Although, Zelda's sword looks very ceremonial. Maybe she'll use it for knighting something? Hope not, need to see badass Zelda.
Well, now, I think she looks like the type to seem all elegant and demure all the time but will bust out to kick ass/take names harder than anyone else just when you least expect. Maybe I'm just projecting. ;) But I mean, I thought for a moment that the laces(?) at the top of her gloves and bottom of her dress were fine mail/armor. Now that's badass.
My favorite part would have to be her hair, which is just like how it always was except with a... what the hell is that from... Renaissance? twist. It suddenly adds so much more sense of a historical myth to it, not unlike what the LotR films did. (YES I WENT THERE. But their actual design styles are quite dissimilar.)
I'm pretty sure that sword is in too much prominence to be something as (plot-tically I make up words woohoo!) trivial as a mere ceremonial object. Although a knighting would make me squee my head off, yes it would.
Much fixed. Now you don't have to worry about her missing anything. And I was wondering why she's holding the sword in her left hand too, but until I see it in the game I'm going to assume it was just an art quirk.
Do you know of anywhere that has larger versions of the little bits? Y'know, the frowning/smiling/angry Link and the cosplay Zelda bits? Cause I'm doodling, which is always a bad sign that I'm about to get obsessed all over again...
I've got a bigger scan (http://www.liuart.com/journal/princesszelda.jpg) of the same Zelda pic, but it's not big enough to read the Japanese notes (I suspect it's just printed at tiny resolution). Still, you can take a sort of look at how her hair thingie works, I suppose.
And I'm be presenting my own doodles in some number of days. ;D

Zelda is easier to position, except it'll look funny without her right hand. Though I could flip it. Why are they both left-handed, huh?
The sword reminds me of Nu Wa's Rapier from Dynasty Warriors 3. Or Umi's sword, I guess.

The cover picture is quite lovely, I will have to see if there's really nothing I can do with it.
