Flowers 'n stuff!

Today we went to the Conservatory of Flowers, which was more cool than it sounds :) You can see proof of that in this massive flood of pictures I took! There's like 40 pics here so bear with me.

We started the day with a bit o' what my camera does best: some puffy because it was cold birds.

Orchids!

Pitcher plants!

Cool leaf textures!

A bunch of other plants that I have no idea what they are!

Special delivery for [livejournal.com profile] ctrl_a!

My favorite flower of the whole day that I had never heard of before: The bat flower. This is the most goth flower I have ever seen.

This is what the camera adjusts the lighting to make it look like.

This is what it really looks like.

EVEN MORE GOTH IN DEATH.

Then they had this miniature train display with various models of San Francisco landmarks made of... random things. :D Such as the Golden Gate Bridge from a barrel of monkeys, and the Transamerica Pyramid out of keyboard keys.

This is Silicon Valley in a nutshell.

When we left it wasn't even 4pm, but it was golden hour already. Daylight savings time :[

And then there were some fat squirrels.

Bonus! Being an INDUSTRY PROFESSIONAL OF THE THIRD DIMENSION, I took the time to make this KICKIN' RAD anaglyph picture of the KICKIN' RAD bat flower. Those of you with the ol' red-blue glasses should click here NOW.

(It's not flawless because I just shifted my camera an inch over manually, but it works well enough to show you how cool the flower is. :])
