Puffer tank diary, redux

That 10 gallon tank was kind of a piece of crap! We got a 20 gallon off of Craigslist to replace it!

Day 1, just-moved-in with slightly insufficient substrate and other stuff:

Day 8, with most of the plants and additional hardscape in:

Day 10, with added dwarf hairgrass. This is pretty much the final setup unless we find the other kind of dwarf hairgrass that we actually wanted that is shorter and less dense than this one but is out of stock everywhere.

Uhh... I don't know what this stuff is called off the top of my head. But it grows fast! Check out how well it straightened out over just two days. Edit: It is Bacopa monnieri, also called moneywort

Cryptocoryne parva, if I'm not mistaken. They have some fine hair algae growing on the leaves that will be easily taken care of by the otos I'm gonna get probably this weekend.

Anubias nana superglued onto this wood. Kevin wants to put even more on but I'm not sure how necessary or practical that'll be.

Red tiger lotus, another fast grower. It's already like an inch taller than in this picture (first day planted).

Giant hairgrass. We had to trim off like a foot off the top because it's pretty when it's bent over the water surface, but blocks too much of the light in this (relatively) small tank.

Baby guppies from our big tank, for checking whether the water is survivable. (Evidently, it is.) I also put in 4 cherry shrimps from my nano tank and they seem to be alive as well, so the water should be ready for more stocking!
