A little more fangirling

Okay guys, I just can't get over how freaking awesome Okami's soundtrack (along with every other aspect) is.  To prove it, I'm posting here the "overworld theme", or rather the theme to one of several fields which are ALL this joyful and glorious.  Revel!

Shinshuu Plains I & II (It's one piece of music split into 2 tracks.) 8.85 mb

Now imagine it as you're running through here and here with lush foliage sprouting beneath your feet. *_*

I've got some unoriginal but AWESOME fanart planned, but I gotta gather some art supplies first.

Edit: Okay, one more to give you a better idea of how well they use the traditional Japanese music style. This is the battle theme and it is ROCKIN. Too bad you don't notice it during the heat of battle and they only last for like 15 seconds because this game is easy like Wind Waker. Play it loud!

Spirit Extermination 8.19 mb

Aww, now I want to play Okami, too.

But... isn't Okami a PS2 game? If you have access to a PS2, you should play Disgaea! :P

Yeah, yeah, do you know what my PS2 play list looks like?

- Shadow of the Colossus (13/16 Colossi)
- Kingdom Hearts (stuck at Ursula)
- GUN (tested the PSP version a bazillion times, yet never beat the last level)
- God of War (not far at all)
- X-Men Legends (obligatory sewer level)
- X-Men Legends 2 (untouched)
- Kingdom Hearts II (unopened)
- Devil May Cry (untouched)

All currently overridden by Okami.

Oh yeah, also:

- Silent Hill 2 (just said hi to my man Pyramid Head)
- Final Fantasy X (untouched)

So I'm not the only one that got stuck at Ursula! (And it still is, I think.)

Yeah, I remember hearing about that. I'll beat it someday, but there are so many other games to work on, and with Wii coming out in just another three weeks--::dead::

And you're coming to my birthday party too riiight? ;)

Party

When. Where. I need this information!

Final Fantasy XII is far superior to FFX in many regards, consider it. ;D I'm really enjoying the game so far.

Devil May Cry (untouched)
Um, why haven't you tried Devil May Cry? My not-so-closet Dante fangirl demands you pay homage to him and play it, and you will not be regretting it. Hours of fun, if not for the awesomeness of the Devil Trigger then for the sheer thrill of blowing the heads off things when you get bored of cutting them into pieces. <3

Why yes, I do think I shall start Devil May Cry two days before Twilight Princess

Snarkiness aside, I guess it's because it looks a lot like God of War, a quite good game but doesn't quite catch my fancy. I intend to finish them both someday but it just hasn't got that magic to me right now, you know? (Have you tried God of War? Protagonist is manly if not quite as pretty and you can do WAAAY more bloodshed than just blow the heads of things.)

Oops, I suppose I kind of forgot about that. Can't think why...

Never tried God of War- I don't actually have a Playstation, it's my cousins who do. I just... commandeer it from time to time when I'm at their house, so I'm sort of at the mercy of their gaming whims (though I know I'll get the eleven year old on side for Okami, he's a Zelda fanboy all the way and I know he'll enjoy something similar.)
It's funny you say it hasn't got magic because that was my first reaction when I saw clips of it (actually my first reaction was "Zechs Merquise's lovechild!" but I digress) and then, once I started playing it, I got hooked. Especially when the main character gets impaled by his own sword, electrocuted and has a motorbike thrown at him in the first three minutes. In my book, the man is made of win.
